Set in the heart of the Kentish countryside this peaceful retreat is in the village of Nonington, nestled in an idyllic valley on the edge of the North Downs. The house is full of history and character being originally a 15th Century Hall House with a later Victorian weatherboard shop addition, formerly the village drapers. The shop provides very private and spacious bed and breakfast accommodation and there is a restored oak-framed detached barn which is available for self-catering breaks.
The house is set in over an acre of tranquil landscaped gardens with views over rolling fields and the ancient village church. The feeling of peace and seclusion complement the ease of access to local places of interest and transport links. The Cathedral City of Canterbury is only 15 minutes drive away and Dover (ferries), Folkestone (Channel Tunnel), and Ashford (Eurostar), are within easy driving distance. The nearest rail link is a 15 minute walk and has direct trains to London Victoria.
Farthingales is a beautiful place to unwind and spend time re-charging yourself. The local countryside offers good walking and cycling and there are many places of interest to visit. These include Canterbury, Dover Castle, and the Cinque Ports of Sandwich and Deal. There are several grand houses and gardens in close proximity with Goodnestone Park only one mile away, Farthingales being originally part of the Estate.
Come and let yourself unwind at Farthingales.
